Stunning Location
Chamrousse is the cradle of alpline skiing where the first descents date back to 1878. In 1968, Chamrousse hosted the Winter Olympics and these runs still exist today.

Chamrousse is a wonderful family resort and is the French Alps best-kept secret!  It is actually the closest resort to Grenoble - much easier to get to compared to those you may have heard a little bit more about in the past.  Indeed, it's only 30 minutes from Grenoble city centre by car.  Why spend extra time travelling from the airport to one of those other resorts, when you could be on the slopes enjoying the fun?

It is also one of the best value-for-money resorts around.  Eating out and drinking in Chamrousse is a lot cheaper than in most of the other Alps resorts, meaning going on a ski trip doesn't have to break the bank.

Accessible Location
Only 30 minutes by car from Grenoble city centre, the location is extremely convenient. From Grenoble airport, you can either take a taxi direct to Chamrousse 1650 or you can take a direct ski bus transfer to the resort provided by: www.bensbus.co.uk. Or you can take a bus from the airport to the Grenoble train/bus station, and then a connecting bus up to the resort itself.

If you want to hire a car, all the major global brands have outlets at Grenoble airport.  However, if you're looking for a bargain, you might be better off booking through one of the following sites, rather than direct with one of the companies themselves:

Winter and Summer Resort
Chamrousse is quite simply beautiful in the Summer.  From our apartments at 1650, set off for the ascent to the “Croix de Chamrousse”, on foot or via the gondola.

The climb to Chamrousse was used in the mountain time-trial in the 2001 Tour de France. Lance Armstrong won the stage on 18 July 2001, when he took just over an hour to complete the hors categorie climb from Grenoble to the ski resort.'
